Residence permit is a permit which is issued to the foreigners who want to stay in Turkey. There are types of residence permits in accordance with the Law on Foreigners and International Protection:
1) Short- term residence permit
2) Family residence permit
3) Student residence permit
4) Long term residence permit
5) Humatarian residence permit
6) Residence permit for the victims of human trafficking
Foreigners holding a long term residence permit shall benefit the same rights as Turkish citizens with the exception of military service, right to vote and to be elected, entering public services and exemption from customs duties when importing vehicles and special laws.
It is obligatory for foreigners who want to stay in Turkey for more than the allowed time of visa, visa exemption or ninety days to apply for a residence permit type that they believe they meet the requirements of through the e-residence system.
