PRACTICE / EXPERIENCE

Dr. Cahit AGAOGLU is an academician in different universities in Turkey and legal consultant mainly advising international clients and state entities to which he brings over 15 years of experience in business law. He has been involved in hundreds of company transactions including mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. He assists management in corporate governance and ensures their daily legal follow-up.

His references include among others leading French operators in the energy market, cosmetics, insurance, DIY (do-it-yourself), sportwear, publishing sector, luxury goods, automotive, aviation, construction etc.

Arbitration is another major area of Dr. AGAOGLU’s activity. In most cases, as legal counsel of companies, he develop pre-litigation strategies and where necessary, represent them before institutional and ad hoc arbitral tribunals. As such, he manages and plead several hundred international litigations before state and arbitral courts.

Dr. AGAOGLU is also an international arbitrator mainly appointed by arbitration courts or companies. He serves on the Board of several arbitration courts, including European Court of Arbitration (ECA) and American International Commercial Arbitration Court (AICAC). In this respect, he is particularly experienced in arbitrations in merger and acquisition, construction industry, public works, trademarks and patent and international trade.
